DUO CYLINDRE is committed to bringing new works to life in collaboration with established and up-and-coming composers of their generation and expanding the framework of the traditional flute and clarinet duo to include auxiliary instruments, transcriptions, piano, percussion, and electronics. Duo Cylindre’s debut album features works written especially for them by Mara Helmuth, Ellen Harrison, Nathan Hudson, Andrey Rubtsov, Steve Darling, and Bradley Harris while also including works by Nathan Daughtrey and Libby Larsen. Educational outreach is an important facet of Duo Cylindre’s performance footprint and they can often be found in Cincinnati and Dayton Public Schools performing STEAM-based initiatives and workshops based on reading and literacy. Upcoming performances include continuing work with concert:nova in Cincinnati, an appearance at the Price Hill Creative Community Festival, and the world premiere of Mara Helmuth’s Cold Brew at the International Clarinet Association’s Clarinetfest in Knoxville, TN this July.

Plumeria Winds is a professional wind trio comprised of Dr. Rachel Messing (Assistant Professor of Oboe, Texas A&M University -  Corpus Christi), Dr. Andrea Vos-Rochefort (Assistant Professor of Clarinet, Texas A&M University - Kingsville), and Dr. Scott Pool (Assistant Professor of Bassoon, Texas A&M University - Corpus Christi). Performing together since May 2020, the trio has been featured at the International Double Reed Society Conference in 2020 and visited several Texas universities to give lectures and performances as part of the Sound Waves Festival and various concerts and clinics. In its short tenure, the group has already gained a reputation for its new interpretations of classic repertoire and its championing of living composers, and will continue to seek out new additions to the chamber music repertoire establishing itself as an active force through commissions and imaginative programming. In addition, Plumeria Winds is passionate about educating the next generation and working within the community to build meaningful connections and collaborations including partnerships with the Oso Bay Wetlands Preserve and the Art Museum of South Texas.
